概要/Abstract

We have developped Mobloget: a retrieval system for texts and images in blogs, and have opened the system to public through medias. Mobloget consists of a retrieval module and a search module. The retrieval module collects blogs from the web using a crawler which is implemented by customizing an open source crawler called JSpider, extracts texts and images from the blogs, and stores them to a database. After a user inputs keywords as a search query to Mobloget, the search module displays a thumbnail image with a text-summary for each relevant blog. We have investigated users' opinions regarding Mobloget and have confirmed that thumbnail images help users' understanding to content of blogs.
