概要/Abstract

Many applications which handle pictures, figures and maps need to change the scale and position of the image according to the user interaction. We noticed the importance of symmetrical nature of zooming; a zooming-out followed by a zooming-in should result the original picture. Using mouse wheel, the symmetry is attained easily. We propose a method which is suitable for conventional pointing devices such as (usual) mouse and pen. We have measured the performance of our method and found it is comparable to the wheel mouse.
